Actress, comedian and singer-songwriter Paula Jai Parker reprises her role as Proud matriarch Trudy Proud in Disney+'s "The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder," the long-anticipated revival of the groundbreaking animated series "The Proud Family."
 
Parker's television credits include "The Wayans Bros.," "Hollywood Divas," "A House Divided," "Family Time" and "The Proud Family," for which she and Tommy Davidson, voice of Oscar Proud, won numerous Zoogin Awards.  She has also had several recurring and guest roles on "Ray Donovan," Freeform's "Recovery Road," "True Blood" and "Side Order of Life."
 
Having appeared in two Academy Award-winning movies, her film credits include "Hustle & Flow," "Friday," "Phone Booth," "Woo," "High Crimes," "Get on the Bus," "Why Do Fools Fall in Love," "30 Years to Life," "She Hate Me" and "Cosmic Slop," for which she won a CableACE Award for Actress in a Dramatic Series.
 
Parker appeared in music videos for 50 Cent, Rome, Jay-Z and Harlem World. In August 2016, she released an extended play entitled "Paula Jai & Friends," which featured the single "Going Down."
 
Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Parker graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Howard University. She currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
