For African Americans, the road to fairness in sports has been a meandering journey, and for many who persevere, a deeper calling often leads to an even greater struggle.

How can the African American athlete utilize the prominence of their sport to advance the cause of their people? How can storytellers employ the power of media to highlight the emergence and advocacy of African American athletes who contribute their voices and influence to causes of activism?
